Catalog B · WWII

Official publication of the United States Rocket Society. Four issues from the magazine’s first year: No. 1 (May 1945), No. 3, No. 4, and No. 5. Issue 1 references the U.S.–Mexico rocket mail flight, also held in this collection, and carries a “Statement of Policy” by Farnsworth arguing for American possession of the Moon in explicitly racial and imperialist terms. Issue 3 carries a letter from Arthur C. Clarke and Farnsworth’s response to it; Clarke later refers to this exchange in his personal letter also available in the collection.
