A provincial popular lecture, subtitled The Application of the Jet Principle in High-Speed Technology, issued by the Republican Lecture Bureau of the Kabardian ASSR’s Council of Ministers and edited by B. E. Tikhomolov, Hero of the Soviet Union. The editor’s foreword presents it as a text for district lecturers and for DOSAV aviation propaganda, the first brochure of its kind in the Kabardian republic, and notes that no such literature existed in the Kabardian language.
Its seven short chapters cover the principle of reaction, the history of the rocket, Russia as the birthplace of jet propulsion, rocket artillery, the paths of aviation development, jet engines and jet aviation, with line drawings of rockets, engines and jet aircraft. The bibliography cites Liapunov’s Rocket, Tsiolkovsky’s Works on Rocket Technology and Kosmodemyansky’s lecture on Tsiolkovsky, all in this catalog.
Printed by the Kabardinskaya Pravda press (approved for press 12 June 1949); 2,000 copies. This copy bears a pencil dedication from the author.
