Russian translation of Hilton’s 1952 English textbook, edited by G. I. Petrov. Its 20 chapters and about 500 pages fall into four parts: subsonic and transonic flow, supersonic flow, wind tunnels, and general topics. Chapter XIII treats very high supersonic speeds and rarefied gases, and Chapter XVIII compares jet and propeller thrust, with sections on turbojets, ramjets and rocket engines.
