A mint block of four 10¢ commemoratives (Scott 1569–1570), issued July 15, 1975 — the same day Apollo and Soyuz docked in orbit — as a se-tenant pair repeated twice, designed so the two stamps read as a single continuous scene when placed side by side. Robert T. McCall designed the “after linkup” half (Scott 1569), showing the joined spacecraft against the Earth under the “APOLLO SOYUZ 1975” lettering; Soviet artist Anatoly Aksamit designed the “before linkup” half (Scott 1570), showing the two craft approaching each other beside the joint Soyuz-Apollo docking emblem. The United States and Soviet Union each issued their own stamps for the mission that day; these were printed by the Bureau of Engraving and Printing in photogravure.
