Vol. 1, No. 1 of “Jets and Rockets: The Magazine of Aerospace News,” a bi-monthly digest edited by Otto O. Binder, Ralph Hill, and Thomas Whyle. Cover story “I Flew the X-15 to the Edge of Space” by Major Robert A. White; also covers the Dyna-Soar program, the Vostok capsule, in-flight jet refueling, and forest-fire aircraft.
An inserted notice tells subscribers there is no August 1962 issue of Space World magazine (also edited by Binder) and that this premier issue of Jets and Rockets is being sent in its place, “edited and written by many of the same people” as Space World. No further issues of Jets and Rockets have been traced, and Space World is independently documented as having continued publishing under its own name into the late 1980s — so this appears to have been a short-lived rebrand rather than a lasting replacement.
