Instructor’s lesson-plan booklet for Grumman’s Flight Control Division Qualification Program, Bethpage, New York. The bound lesson plan covers the LEM Systems course’s Environmental Control Subsystem (ECS) subcourse—Schedule No. 25.07, GAEC Course No. 30515-006—a Level 2 conference/lecture allotted six hours, written by E. Ferner and dated 13 April 1966, with approval signatures for GAEC and the FLDQP office.
Its outline works through the ECS’s four sections: Atmosphere Revitalization (ARS), Oxygen Supply and Cabin Pressure Control (OSCPCS), Water Management (WMS), and Heat Transport (HTS).
Bound in with it are eight of the course’s training illustrations, among them the LEM ECS block diagram, a cutaway of the LEM ascent stage, the LEM displays-and-controls panel, space-suit internal flow, the ECS–space suit interface, and schematics for the Atmosphere Revitalization, Oxygen Supply and Cabin Pressure Control, and Heat Transport sections (the last a large fold-out), dated between May 1965 and May 1966.
Nearly every page carries the original trainee’s own pencil annotations—operating pressures, flow rates, valve settings, and memory aids penciled directly onto the diagrams—a firsthand record of the ECS qualification course as it was actually studied.
