LEM Support Manual (LMA790-8-62190) for the Supercritical Helium Checkout Test Set, part nos. LDW430-62190-3 and -5, published 15 December 1966 under NASA contract NAS 9-1100.
Consisting of a test unit, a flowmeter box, and a test gage stand, the set was used in the Lunar Module development program to check out the LEM’s supercritical helium (SHe) pressurization system, at the Manned Spacecraft Center’s White Sands Test Facility in New Mexico and at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida. It ran four qualification checks (a heat-leak test, a squib-valve bypass test, a proof-pressure test, and a LEM relief valve assembly leakage test) and monitored pressures up to 1,500 psig through gages and a pressure transducer accurate to a fraction of a percent of full scale.
Covers description and leading particulars, installation and operation, test equipment, maintenance, an illustrated parts list, and wiring/tubing diagrams.
