A three-ring Grumman training binder, document no. LSG 770-154-4-LM-5 & SUB, prepared under LM Contract NAS 9-1100 (Exhibit E, Paragraph 3.7.4, a Type III document) and dated May 1969.
It is keyed specifically to LM-5 — the lunar module that flew as Apollo 11’s Eagle, with Armstrong and Aldrin, two months after this guide was issued, and stamped “for training purposes only, in support of LM-5 SUB subsystem briefings.”
Three chapters cover the Electrical Power Subsystem in full — LM-5’s own Panels 11, 14, and 16 reproduced with their actual switch and gauge labeling, descent and ascent batteries and electrical control assemblies, DC/AC bus distribution, Launch Umbilical Tower control logic, and a table of the seven EPS power modes from ground support equipment through an aborted ascent; the Explosive Devices Subsystem (staging, abort, and pyrotechnic hardware, keyed to LM-5’s Panel 8); and Lighting (interior and exterior lighting functional trees, with tracking- and docking-light specifications).
See the special feature for the fuller story of what “LM-5 & Subsequent” means and why it points to Apollo 11 specifically.
