LEM Support Manual (LMA790-8-62180) for the Propulsion Systems Checkout Cart, part no. LDW430-62180-3, published 30 August 1966 under NASA contract NAS 9-1100, superseding an earlier edition dated 30 December 1965.
The cart was a mobile, five-panel test unit that selected, regulated, filtered, and monitored pressurized gaseous helium and nitrogen for prefire checkout and leak detection of the Lunar Module’s Reaction Control and Propulsion Subsystems, at pressures up to 3,500 psig and flow rates up to 10 lb/min. It was used at Grumman’s Cold Flow Facility in Bethpage, at the Manned Spacecraft Center’s White Sands Test Facility in New Mexico, and during acceptance and prelaunch testing at MSC Houston and the Kennedy Space Center.
Covers description and leading particulars, preparation for use and reshipment, operating instructions, test equipment, maintenance, wiring diagrams, and an illustrated parts breakdown across 133 pages.
