Frontier To Space.

The Russian translation (by S. I. Kuznetsov and N. A. Zaks) of Burgess’s 1955 Chapman & Hall book, edited by Prof. D. L. Timrot, who adds a preface. Its eight chapters take in rocket probing of the upper atmosphere, the ionosphere, solar radiation, cosmic rays, and the region beyond the exosphere. The endpapers carry a chart of rocket, balloon and aircraft altitude records, and the bibliography cites Kooy and Uytenbogaart’s Ballistics of the Future. The English original is also in this catalog.
