French translation, from the Russian, by Paul Kolodkine, published in the series Tout Savoir by Les Éditeurs Français Réunis, 33 rue Saint-André-des-Arts, Paris VI. The Preface is the translation of the one in Sternfeld’s 1949 Russian Polyot v mirovoe prostranstvo (also in this collection), ending with the printed credit “A. Sternfeld, lauréat du Prix international d’encouragement à l’astronautique,” and its footnote marks the works it recommends as being in Russian (N.D.T.), so this is the French edition of that book.

The text is illustrated with line drawings and plates of spaceships and orbits, and a Table des illustrations closes the volume. The cover shows a silver rocket leaving the Earth toward a ringed moon.
