“NO COMM” contingency checklist card, Skylab, dated 10/19/72, covering undocked and docked no-communication procedures in steps A through G, signed “Paul Weitz, Pilot Skylab I,” with a note that the card was “used in training.” The reverse carries a second, denser reference list headed “PWR USERS,” covering electrical and systems callouts across the buses, EPS, ECS, RCS, SPS, G&N, and SCS.
The card is die-cut to an unusual shape, an isosceles triangle with two of its points removed, so that it would affix flat to a surface inside the Skylab workshop; three Velcro fasteners survive intact on the reverse.
Weitz signed the card “Pilot Skylab I,” the crew’s own informal name for their flight; NASA’s official designation for that first crewed Skylab mission was Skylab 2, the wording used on the accompanying Certificate of Authenticity.
