NASA SP-242, a 125-page reference guide prepared at Langley Research Center to the photographic survey conducted by the five Lunar Orbiter missions of 1966–1967, the program that mapped candidate Apollo landing sites and much of the rest of the Moon before any astronaut left Earth orbit. Illustrated throughout, it indexes and locates the individual frames returned by each of the five spacecraft, giving readers a way to find and interpret specific Lunar Orbiter photographs by site and coverage area.
